So. Context is the key….to understanding connectivism? I think this is what George is trying to say. So what does he mean by this?
I think he means that the context is one of powerful machines connected in a network with attributes of speed, mass storage, multiple nodes etc. Humans interact with this network, and because of their increasing interaction with it, and because of the nature of it, ‘how we learn’ has changed and requires a new theory to describe this. Enter connectivism. A learning theory for the digital age.
Which brings me back to this:
How people work and function is altered when new tools are utilized.
